Smt. Jeyaverni Jeganathan is a luminary in the realm of Indian classical dance, celebrated for her artistry and dedication as both a performer and a teacher. A name well-known in the dance communities across the United Kingdom, she has earned a reputation for her exceptional skill, innovative choreography, and passionate teaching.

Smt. Jeyaverni began her journey in Sri Lanka under the tutelage of Smt. Dwaraka Keetheswaran, completing her teacher’s grade certification with the North Ceylon Oriental Music Society Board. She achieved national recognition, earning gold medals in Bharatha Natyam competitions, and has performed on prestigious stages worldwide, including appearances with the BBC and in North America. Further enriching her craft, she trained in Kathakali under Smt. Padmini Selvandrakumar and Sri Kalaikovil Vel Anandan, demonstrating her versatility and depth in classical dance forms.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, Smt. Jeyaverni has been a pivotal figure in promoting Indian classical dance in London. She currently trains over 80 students through SANGEETHA OF THE UK, the Croydon Academy of Eastern Arts, and her own institution, Ponsita School of Dance. Her ability to inspire and nurture talent has led many of her students to excel in the art form, making her an invaluable mentor to aspiring dancers.
